THREE LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Choose recommenders who, individually or in aggregate, will give the best sense of your qualifications for study at SIPA.
SIPA prefers to receive one letter from a professor and one from a supervisor or colleague.
All documents, except foreign transcripts judged irreplaceable, become the property of Columbia and cannot be returned. All documents must be in English or accompanied by certified translations.

Short Essay (Essay 2): Tell us about a policy change related to your selected SIPA concentration that has had a negative or positive impact on others. (200 words maximum)
Video Essay:
Since the SIPA Admissions Committee does not offer in-person interviews, students must also respond to a video question. You need an internet connection and a webcam to submit your video essay response. Questions are generated at random by the admissions committee and they will be policy-related prompts. You will have 60 seconds (1 minute) to respond. To ensure the authenticity of your response, you cannot re-record your official answer. Thus, you will only be allowed to submit your official video response once. Detailed instrcutions may be found within the application form once you start an application for the current term.
