考古学

考古学

考古学（Archaeology）是对于过去人类社会的研究，主要通过重建与分析古代人们的物质文化与环境资料，包括器物、建筑、生物遗留与文化地景。由于考古学运用许多不同的研究程序，它可被认定为一门科学与一门人文学，而且在美国，它是人类学的一个分支，在欧洲则是一门独立学科。

专业分支

正如大多数的学科，考古学有许多的分支学科，区分的方式有些是依据特定的研究法或物质类型（如：石器分析、史前音乐、考古植物学），地理或年代（如：近东考古学、中世纪考古学），其他的主题（如：海洋考古学、地景考古学、战场考古学），或是一处特定的考古文化或文明（如：埃及学、印度学、汉学）。
